My latest art purchase was my first time ordering metallic prints. For those of you who haven’t tried this printing style – I urge you to give it a go. I was surprised to see that, while my print actually had a strong metallic sheen when I took it out of the wrapping,  once I framed it – the shine became very subtle.  It’s almost undetectable when flat… so that it slightly enhances the print without overpowering it.

The background shapes seem softer while keeping the details sharp – the colors are deep and rich.

All in all – I’m pleasantly surprised!

I couldn’t resist when I saw this artist featured on Decor8.

I ordered my 8×10 on metallic paper which is new for me. I’ll let you all know if I can tell a real difference.

Happy Weekend!

Hope everyone had a great week. Mine flew by surprisingly! Anyway – on to more important things… like my latest fav on Etsy this week. Presenting the very talented AliciaBock. You can see some of her dreamy images above… or check out her shop here. Enjoy and happy shopping!

…with this office space from LovelyDesign’s photostream on flickr. Check out the rest of her pics on her space – so lovely!

How does she get her kitty to pose so well for photos??

My dream work space....

Hmm…I think the Container Store and I have a date this weekend.

** Side note: If you haven’t been to the container store before and this room really appeals to you – you need to go!!!!!

It’s raining and cold outside here in Atlanta. Makes me dreamy for staying indoors with a project or two. Here’s the latest that caught my attention:

Spare wall/ceiling + lots of themed scrap paper + weekend= Decoupage Project!

Ceiling with Decoupage

Ceiling with Decoupage

I navigated my way to the web to find this project featured on Mr. Peacock. Basically it lists all the instructions/materials for adhering different images onto a surface. I’m thinking of doing something in my office however my problem lies in the fact that my walls are covered in wood panels… painted… but still wood. I’m afraid the ceiling would be too much. Maybe around my light fixture….

Here’s another piece of eye candy.  I guess this would also be a decoupage of sorts… or would it be considered wallpaper?

So this weekend went by in a flash (don’t they all). I spent it with my best friend Hollis helping my mom at the Environmental Expo here in Atlanta. Because the weather was so beautiful – we didn’t see much traffic but hopefully she made some contacts. Sadly – I missed all the sun…

Going to get into project mode here soon but for now – I have TONS of wedding thank yous to write and lots of organizing to do before I break out the art supplies. Whew! There’s a table I want at Ikea for organizing my creative papers… we’ll see. Very nice to have my new esposo home this Sunday. He went for a guy trip up to the mountains to drive his car. A pic from our ceremony :)
